This past weekend was Labor Day weekend. Matt was able to stay home Friday and have a daddy day with Noah. The entertained each other. Matt let Noah play on our drums while Matt took pictures. I think drumming is in his near future!! After I got off of work we drove to Live Oak to spend the weekend with Matt's family. Grandma Poole rented a house on the Suwanee River.
The first night we set up camp and claimed rooms. Matt and I had the master bedroom with a King bed. It was such a luxury to be able to sleep in the same bed and not have to ask or be asked to move over. Carrie, Wendy, and I went to Wal-Mart and bought groceries for the weekend. After all the shopping we decided we were hungry now, and Wendy bought Crystal burgers for everyone. I was really glad too, because it was already 10:30pm.
On Day two, Matt, Noah, and I went exploring in the new truck. We saw the beautiful country with rolling hills and blue skies above. It reminded me of being a kid again. Then Matt and I went canoeing down the Suwanee. I was terribly afraid of the water...don't know why..The water was so dark because of the acid released from the trees and I couldn't see in it...It just made me nervous.
On day three, Matt found some hammocks in the towel closet and hung them so Carrie and I could read in them. It was very relaxing..reminded me a little of Costa Rica with the clear day, water in the back ground, cool breeze...ahh...
The main fall back to the trip was Noah thinking he needed to be awake 24/7. The kid would not sleep. For some reason he felt the need to cry at night... He slept all night in his bed last night, which was such a relief, I though he might feel the need to keep crying for the joy of being home. Luckily that was not the case and we were able to get a full nights rest before going back to work today. That just about sums up our 3 day weekend!
