First of all, I would like to welcome you to my blog. This seemed like an easy way to stay connected to my family and friends, both close, and away. This is my first attempt at blogging, so please bare with me while I get everyone up to date.
This past year have been a very busy and adventurous year for me and my family. Matt and I bought our first house in Havana. August 8th was our first year in the home, and yes, we still have not settled in. We live with my horse, 2 dogs, and our 8 month old son, Noah. He has brought such great joy and happiness us and to everyone around him. He started crawling on July 30. Since then the floor has become an enormous playground. He has 6 teeth and can wave and clap.
I left my previous job of 2 ½ years at the Department of Children and Families to work for the Ounce of Prevention. I really enjoy my new job. Our office strives to prevention child abuse. I work with the trainers who help pregnant women and their children. I have been in this position since July 20.
In between finishing at my old job and starting my new job Noah and I took a trip to NY with Erin and her boyfriend Mat. We were able to do a lot of site seeing in Manhattan and visit out family for a day. A week in the Big Apple was just enough time to really appreciate home.
Matt was working for Booth properties before Noah was born. He lost his job right as I was coming off of maternity leave, so the time was perfect for him to be a stay at home dad for a while. He now works for a construction company, BEC, where he does any type of construction you can think of. Him and his brother, Justin, will soon be venturing out on their own. Since both of us have reliable jobs now, Matt was able to buy his first real, reliable truck. I have to admit I am a little jealous he gets to drive it, but I’m also glad I don’t have to full up the tank.
So that was the bulk of my drama..fell free to ask questions for more details as you please….Happy Reading

it'll be nice to finally have a home of our own (someday). That's still not going to be for many years, though... too much uncertainty in terms of placements for school. But, hopefully, by the time Penny is ready for pre-K or kindergarten, things will be a little more stable!
ReplyDeleteYou work for Ounce of Prevention? My boyfriend's mom works there! Mary Kay Falconer.
